Crochet
The Alcance Latino Crochet Group meets every other Friday evening at 7:30 pm and is open to both adults and children over the age of 10. In addition to developing one's artistic abilities, Crocheting also offers several cognitive benefits by supporting the brain's overall function and health. This craft not only serves as a creative outlet, but also enhances focus and memory. The meditative and repetitive action of both knitting and crocheting help to focus the mind on the activity, thereby slowing the nervous system and reducing anxiety and stress hormones (cortisol) in the body. All levels of Crochet artistic ability are welcome, especially those who have no experience and would like to learn.
