Chess Club
The Alcance Latino Chess Club meets every Friday from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm for children ages 8 and up. There are many healthy reasons for children to learn to play Chess. It brings people together and fosters friendship in a time when many people are feeling isolated. As an educational tool, studies have shown that chess players tend to have better memory, attention span, and overall brain function than those who do not play. It is a mental activity that builds confidence, develops problem-solving skills, and teaches children how to win and lose. New Chess Club members are always welcome to learn and play.
